In Praga Caput Regni, players take on the role of wealthy citizens who organize various building projects in medieval Prague. As they expand their wealth and take part in the constructions, they gain the king's favor. Players choose from six actions on the game's board – the “action crane” – which are always available, but which are weighted by a constantly changing sequence of costs and benefits. By using these actions, you can increase your resources, improve the strength of your chosen actions and build the “New Town of Prague”, the Charles Bridge or the city walls. You may possibly gain additional actions or even participate in the construction of St. Vitus Cathedral.
Smart players will discover synergies between carefully timed actions and the rewards from building urban projects, as all mechanisms interlock with each other. At the end of the game, the player who impressed King Charles the most wins.
