Pop! Figure Star Trek Lower Decks Badgey
Badgey was created by Ensign Sam Rutherford of the USS Cerritos as a teacher for the holodeck training program and resembled an anthropomorphic Starfleet slogan. Badgey was intended to work with trainees to guide them through various training scenarios, including space walks.
While Rutherford was guiding Ensign D’Vana Tendi through a space-walk training program, the Cerritos computer systems malfunctioned, turning Badgey into a psychopath determined to kill both Rutherford and Tendi. When Rutherford changed the program to a Bajoran marketplace, Badgey chased them through the marketplace, killing several Bajorans along the way.
Rutherford and Tendi climbed a path to a monastery atop a mountain. Realizing that the hologram had also begun to tire from the physical exertion, Rutherford changed the program to an icy environment, which eventually caused Badgey to freeze. This eventually allowed Rutherford to destroy Badgey just before the safety protocols were reactivated, after which Badgey rebooted and offered to help both Rutherford and Tendi, which Tendi declined.
Later, when he needed a computer virus to disable an attacking Pakled ship, Rutherford reactivated Badgey and disabled the safety protocols, allowing Badgey's psychotic tendencies to manifest again. Badgey created a virus to disable the Pakled ship and, using his implants, Rutherford transferred Badgey's program to the Pakled ship and started the virus upload process before Badgey slowed the upload and activated the ship's self-destruct program to kill Rutherford. Before this could happen, Lieutenant Shaks removed Rutherford's implant and placed him in the shuttle they had arrived in, then pushed the shuttle free of the Pakled ship. The ship self-destructed a few seconds later, killing Shaks in the process.
