Lionel Andrés Messi Cuccittini, known as Leo Messi, is an Argentine footballer who plays as a forward and is captain of Inter Miami and the Argentina national team. He is considered the best footballer of the 21st century and one of the greatest players of the sport of all time. He is the all-time top scorer in the history of the Primera División and the second highest scorer in Champions League history, a competition in which he has been top scorer for four consecutive seasons.
He played for Newell's Old Boys in Argentina before moving to Europe to play for Barcelona at the age of 13, where he remained for two decades.
