The Deep Regrets board game is an atmospheric game of strategy, horror and fishing for 1 to 5 players, with a playtime of about 30 minutes per player. In this "ill-fated" fishing game, players travel the dark waters of the ocean, hauling ever stranger and more terrifying sea creatures. The deeper you risk, the more “regrets” (regrets) you collect…
Each round, you roll special fishing dice to determine your strength and decide whether to stay at sea or return to port to sell fish, buy supplies and recharge energy. You examine shadows of fish schools at three depths, choosing whether to risk for a bigger haul or stay safe.
The fish, characters and items are exquisitely illustrated by Judson Cowan and reveal a darkly beautiful world full of dangers. As you explore, you collect Regret cards, which increase your madness but also the opportunities for stronger effects – always at a risk. If, however, you end up with the most regrets at the end, you lose your most prized fish.
The game also includes a solo mode, where you play as an ichthyologist on a mission to catalog all the fish of the sea through a campaign of dozens of games. Each game leaves an imprint in your logbook and invites you to balance between catch and remorse.
