A fellow student has disappeared from the famous School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and it's up to you to solve the mysterious disappearance.
Play as Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Luna or Neville and try to discover who did it, what spell or item they used and where the student was attacked. Could it have been Draco Malfoy with a sleeping potion ;
Move around Hogwarts by making suggestions but be careful. The wheels on the board move and reveal secret passages, hidden staircases, even the Dark Mark. Think you've gathered all the clues you need? Go to Dumbledore's office to make your final accusation and win the game.

This version of the classic game Clue combines the classic idea of going from room to room and making suggestions about who, what and where. However, this edition adds some new ideas. The first is the ever-changing board. On a player's turn they roll three dice, two normal and one special die. The special die has the four Hogwarts houses on it. This allows the player to change the layout of the board, opening/closing doors, changing the secret passage, revealing the Dark Mark (causing loss of house points) or taking help cards.

House points are the second change. In this edition either one player can win, or all players can lose and the dark side wins, taking all the players' house points. House points are lost when the dark sign appears and a card from the dark deck is revealed. Affected players must either show a help card that protects them from the dark deck card, or lose the specified number of house points. Falling to zero house points results in a player losing and leaving the game.

The other two types of cards are the third change in the game. There are help cards consisting of items, allies and spells. These are used to fight the second deck, the dark deck. Dark deck cards are revealed when a dark sign appears either on the die, or by moving the house wheels, changing the door arrangements. Dark sign cards affect players in specific locations and those players must be able to show the indicated help cards or lose house points.

Basically the idea is the same as the classic, but the extra things make the game quite different and interesting. People who like Clue and/or Harry Potter will enjoy this edition.
