Apocalypse Road

The Apocalypse Road is a racing game in the style of Mad Max that uses the mechanism Thunder Alley / Grand Prix.

In a grim future, after the collapse of our modern technological world, most of the structures we love today will no longer be effective. The things that brought us comfort and convenience have fallen into disuse. Central governments have given way to local authorities. In some places the world is a vast wasteland, while in others humanity prospers, returning to its pre-modern way of life.

Even so, all men still choose to compete and challenge one another in various arenas. Motor racing is one of the sports that will not die. But the rules no longer apply. Race tracks are no longer about speed and cleverness. They now resemble high-speed demolition derbies. The most famous of the organized competitions, Apocalypse Road, is run by criminals and ruthless monsters who encourage drivers to arm their cars and literally destroy their opponents.

Over time, new rules and organizational structures were put in place. Ten teams now compete in the Thunderverse in a seasonal spectacle of power, fire and crumpled metal. Drivers work as part of a team that fights to complete laps under fire from machine guns or even rockets. The tracks, which have been derelict for decades, are a chaos of jumps, joker lanes and dirt. Like the gladiators of old, in an era of dire hardship, the chance to become a hero, even for a day, calls drivers to risk their lives for wealth and sustenance. The arena invites you to get behind the wheel.

Players try to earn points by crossing the finish line (as in roller derby) and eliminating opposing cars. The first team to reach 15 points wins the event and receives a double portion of food as a reward.
