K2 is the second highest mountain on Earth and the second most deadly. It is known as the “wild mountain”, as it kills one person for every four who have reached the summit… Now your team stands in its shadow, ready to climb for glory and fame.
In K2 each player controls a team of 2 climbers, who try to climb to its summit. They want to return before the other players' teams and before the mountain kills them. Each player uses an identical deck of cards. They use the cards to move the climbers along the route depicted on the game's board or to acclimatize the members of their team.
You can also pitch a tent and wait for better weather. You should choose your route carefully, as other climbers may block your way. You should also watch for incoming weather that can reduce your acclimatization to 0, killing your climbers.
K2 is a game with intense interaction and a low luck factor. The theme is very well represented by the mechanisms, including elements such as changing weather, lack of oxygen and the death of climbers. The result is an exciting contest for players and non-players.
