In the fast, family game Galaxy Trucker, players start searching simultaneously in the shared depot, frantically trying to grab the most useful component tiles to build their spaceship – and all of this in real time.
Once the ships are launched, players face dangerous situations while competing for financial opportunities, each hoping to win the most valuable cargo and finish with as much of their ship intact as possible. Of course, that's easier said than done, as many hazards will send pieces of your ship, your cargo and your crew to the depths of space.
The goal is to survive the trip – hoping that at least part of your crew and ship will be intact – and to have at least one credit at the end of the game. (Profit, yes!) Players earn points by delivering goods, defeating pirates, having the most beautiful ship and reaching their destination before the others.
This edition of Galaxy Trucker is a reissue of the original 2007 edition by Vlaada Chvátil that features new art, more ship tiles, improved cards and improved gameplay consisting only of a single flight into space. That said, if you want a longer, more demanding experience, you can play a three-flight game, known as “Transgalactic Trek”.
