A few words about Kitt
KITT or K.I.T.T. is the short name of two fictional characters from the adventure Knight Rider. In both cases, KITT is an artificially intelligent electronic computer unit in the body of an extremely advanced, highly mobile, robotic car. The original KITT is known as Knight Industries Two Thousand, which appeared in the original television series Knight Rider as a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The second KITT is known as Knight Industries Three Thousand, which first appeared in the two-hour 2008 pilot film for a new Knight Rider television series and then in the new series itself, and appeared as a Ford Shelby GT500KR of 2008-2009.
During filming, KITT had the voice of a script assistant, while the voice actors later recorded KITT's dialogues. David Hasselhoff and the original voice actor of the series William Daniels met for the first time six months after the start of filming of the series[1] The evil twin of KITT is KARR, the name of which is an acronym for Knight Automated Roving Robot. KARR initially had his voice provided by Peter Cullen and later by Paul Frees in the first and third seasons, respectively, of the original NBC television series Knight Rider. The 1991 film, Knight Rider 2000, which is a continuation of the series, focuses on KITT's original microprocessor unit being transferred into the body of the vehicle intended to be its successor, the Knight Industries Four Thousand (Knight 4000), with the voices of Carmen Argenziano and William Daniels. Val Kilmer provided the voice of KITT in the 2008-2009 Knight Rider series.
