The Refuge: Terror from the Deep is a new, standalone edition of the board game The Refuge by B&B from 2016: Α Race for Survival: A Refuge: A Race for Survival.
In the Competitive Dive of Terror from the Deep, 2-6 divers compete by running toward the objective and planning their movement to deceive their opponents – and all this while escaping the wrath of the Kraken! The objective of the game is simple: Reach an unlocked escape capsule first, and you will escape with the cargo, winning!
On your turn, you perform only one action:
-Move your character orthogonally
-Draw a rescue card
-Play a rescue action.
-Use a character's ability
As you move, you activate spaces on the board. For example: the Spawn space adds annoying tentacles that slow your opponents and the Lair space controls the Kraken's tentacles. By combining the cards in your hand with your movement, you can chain combos – that push you toward the final objective. Don't wait too long for the perfect combo – the board will quickly fill with tentacles and the Kraken is always hungry!
The The Refuge: Terror from the Deep also features new solo and cooperative gameplay for 1-4 players in which players work together to defeat the Kraken! In a cooperative dive, you and your teammates will need to work together to achieve a series of demanding objectives, as the Kraken threatens to overwhelm you. Can you escape?
