The Architects of The West Kingdom is set chronologically at the end of the Carolingian Empire, around 850. As royal architects, the players compete to impress their king and to maintain their noble standing by constructing various buildings across the recently defined territory. Players will have to collectxoun raw materials, hire apprentices and supervise their workers. And all of this, always watching their opponents since nothing will stop the latter from slowing down your progress.
The goal in Architects of the West Kingdom is to be the player with the most Victory Points at the end of the game. Points are earned by building various buildings and contributing to the Cathedral. Throughout the game, players will need to make decisions in which morality plays a primary role. However, only at the end of the game will their Virtue be judged. The game ends once a certain number of constructions are completed.
