Faraway – Far Away…
Welcome to Alula, a mysterious continent with constantly changing geography, shaped according to the rhythm of the seasons. Beyond the Sea of Mist lies the mysterious continent of Alula. Wander the land in search of its secrets, meet its inhabitants and record its wonders in order to gain more fame than your rivals.
During a game of Faraway, you will play a row of 8 cards in front of you, from left to right. These cards represent the regions you will encounter while exploring the lands. The characters on those cards will give you victory points if you later fulfill the conditions they require. At the end of the game, you return the same way, scoring points from the cards in the reverse order you played them. That's the heart of the game. Throughout’ the game, the cards you play will serve both to set new goals and to fulfill goals you played previously.
In each round, you play one card from a hand of 3. Then, you choose a new card from an open river. As Faraway is a simultaneous game, you must take into account a clever priority system in all your choices – picking a card last leaves you with fewer options and often less profitable choices for the following turns.
