Subbuteo Original Set
Subbuteo is a classic finger-action football simulation game. It is played on a large cloth pitch with teams of miniature football players mounted on smooth round bases. The players are made to kick the ball by flicking their bases, which causes them to slide across the pitch, striking the ball. The rules simulate almost every detail of a football match, including ball possession and passing, throw-ins, goal kicks and corners. There is even a large section of the rules devoted to fouls.
Much more popular in European countries than in the United States, this game allows collectors to buy teams of footballers representing dozens of clubs and countries from around the world, along with improvements to football pitches, such as stands filled with cheering fans, referees standing on the sidelines, and even the stadium lights.
