Barrage The China Challenge \u2013 Expansion for the Barrage<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The Barrage: The China Challenge is a major strategic expansion for the successful Barrage, shifting the competition for hydroelectric power production to China. With an all-new thematic area, new mechanisms, and the Chinese company, the expansion adds even more options to one of the most demanding economic strategy board games.<\/p>\n

One of the most significant additions is the 18 Landscape Tiles. These are new constructions that display the required cost and, when completed, essentially transform the map. Players can gain regional bonuses, create new common action spaces, and activate permanent effects, making the development of the map even more dynamic.<\/p>\n

The China Challenge also introduces the new map of the Yellow River. Two Natural Lakes can hold water drops, creating new challenges in flow management and energy production planning.<\/p>\n

The third major addition is the China Company, a new asymmetric company compatible with the base game and the expansions of Barrage. The specialized Pressure Conduits offer increased power but require additional Concrete Mixer for their construction. Meanwhile, the four Chinese Powerhouses have different shapes and unique properties, providing new production strategies and Victory Points.<\/p>\n

Designed for experienced fans of heavy eurogames, worker placement, resource management, and economic strategy games, The China Challenge further increases the strategic depth of Barrage. It is also compatible with Barrage: The Leeghwater Project, allowing for even more combinations and different strategies.<\/p>\n
